The Roto shaft features an aluminum spinning top. The principle behind spinning shafts is simple. If the throwing action imparts spin on the dart it will cause the flight to rotate increasing drag. This can throw the darts off their intended course. Spinners allow the dart to rotate and the flight to remain static. This eliminates drag and improves accuracy. Spinning shafts also allow an incoming dart to rotate the flight of an existing dart out of the way instead of deflecting off the flight thus improving scoring. These shafts have the added advantage of the aluminum top being replaceable.
